Product Details
1958 is the first year for the Fender Jazzmaster. The Jazzmaster was Fender's top-of-the-line guitar at the time, and the first model to receive the then-new slab rosewood fingerboard.
This particular guitar is one of the earliest ones produced, and it is fully original, including the rare gold lined Tweed case. The original brushed aluminum, gold anodized pickguard is a particularly cool and rare feature of these earliest Jazmasters. It was pahed out some time in 1959.
There is a moderate amount of play wear present on this instrument, a testament to it having been loved but not abused.
The original frets have some life left in them and the guitar has been professionally set up to play perfectly. The only small issue worth mentioning is a tiny hole in the back of the headstock that appears to have resulted from installing the original string tree without spacer, causing the screw to poke through.
'58 Jazzmasters aren't common. This is a nice, highly collectible example of a classic Fender model that has really appreciated over the last few years.
